One-time vs. subscription pricing

Every course can be priced one of two ways:

• One-time: a single purchase grants access per your access-duration setting (lifetime, days-after-purchase, or a fixed date)
• Subscription: students are charged on a recurring interval (you set the number of days) to keep access — this is how you'd sell a "membership" that bundles ongoing content

Subscription courses paid through Stripe Connect renew automatically at expiry — a real recurring charge, not simulated. Subscription courses paid through any other gateway (toyyibPay, senangPay, HitPay, PayPal, or Taiwan's ECPay/NewebPay/PayUni) don't auto-renew; the student needs to come back and manually renew when it expires.

What each subscription period charges

Every automatic renewal charges the subscription price as it was when the student bought. Anything added at the student's first checkout applies to the first period only:

• an order bump course
• the shipping fee for physical items
• a group-buy discount

How long a coupon discount lasts depends on the coupon's own setting (first period only by default, or the first few months, or every period) — see "Coupons and discounts".

For example, with a RM50/month subscription, a student who adds a RM30 order bump and uses a first-period-only RM10-off coupon at first checkout pays RM70 for the first period, then RM50 every month after that.

Early-bird prices and price changes

A student who subscribes at a pricing-tier price (such as an early-bird price) keeps paying that price every period; changing the course price later only affects new subscribers. This matches how Kajabi and Teachable handle it, and how Stripe subscriptions themselves work.

Cart and manual renewal

• Subscription courses can't go in the cart. The sales page shows only "Buy now", which opens the course's own checkout. Cart checkout can only take a one-time payment, so a subscription bought there would cover just one period and never renew.
• For subscription students not paying through Stripe Connect, checkout explains that renewal is manual. Before access expires they get a reminder email with a renewal link.

A receipt every period

With Stripe Connect auto-renewal, the student gets a receipt email each time a period is charged.
