Coupons and discounts

Under Sales → Coupons, create discount codes (fixed amount or percentage), optionally restricted to specific courses, with usage caps and an expiry date. Students enter the code at checkout to apply the discount.

On subscription courses

When creating a coupon, "On subscription courses" sets how long the discount lasts:

• First period only (default): renewals go back to the regular subscription price.
• First few months: enter a number of months (1 to 36) — e.g. 3 discounts the first three months, then the regular price applies.
• Every period: the discount applies for as long as the student stays subscribed.

This setting only affects courses that auto-renew through Stripe Connect. Students on other gateways renew manually and need to enter the code again at each checkout.

Discounts that bring the total to 0

When a one-time course is discounted to 0 (for example a 100% coupon), checkout completes immediately without going to a payment page: the student gets access right away and still receives a receipt. This doesn't apply to subscription courses, which need a real recurring charge.
