Access duration

Lifetime access, days-after-purchase, or a fixed cutoff date.

On this page

On a course's pricing settings, choose how long a purchase grants access for:

  • Lifetime (default): access never expires
  • Days after purchase: access expires a set number of days after the student buys
  • Fixed date: access expires on a specific calendar date, regardless of when the student bought — useful for a cohort or a seasonal course

You can also extend an individual student's access manually from the Students page, without changing the course's default setting for everyone else.

Subscription-priced courses use their own renewal interval instead of these three options — see "One-time vs. subscription pricing" under Pricing & Sales.

Free courses and lead magnets

The same setting applies to free courses: "Join for free" and lead-magnet sign-ups get the same expiry as a purchase would. Once a student's free access has expired, they can click "Join for free" again to restart it from that day. A student you removed from the course (or refunded) can't rejoin on their own — they'll see a message asking them to contact you, and you can re-add them from the Students page.

Manual grants and CSV import

Granting a course from the Students page or by CSV import follows the same rule: a new grant, or re-granting a student whose access expired or was removed, starts the course's duration from that day (for example "90 days after purchase" means 90 days from today). A student still inside their access isn't affected, so an expiry date you extended by hand is never shortened.
